The Pokhara University (PU) was established in the year 1997 with the goal of increasing the availability of quality higher education in Nepal. It is an independent, non-profit and public organization with a strong focus on academic excellence, research, innovation and on training competent human resources.
This University has four major faculties of academic programs, namely: Science and Technology, Management Studies, Health Sciences, and Humanities and Social Sciences. Offered at undergraduate (bachelor's) and post-graduate (MPhil and PhD) levels, the programs are taught at its constituent, joint-constituent and affiliated colleges.
PU offers degrees in various fields of engineering and information technology, management, health sciences, development studies and social sciences. It is academic in nature whose emphasis is on critical thinking, practical skills, research and equipping graduates for employment in Nepal and overseas.
