About London Metropolitan University
London Metropolitan University is a public university in London, United Kingdom. London Guildhall University merged with the University of North London on 1 August 2002 to form the university in its current form, the first in the UK to be created by the merger of two universities.
London Met's roots in higher education go back to 1848. It replaced a series of antecedent institutions, such as City of London College, City of London Polytechnic, Polytechnic of North London, the University of North London and the London Guildhall University.
The university provides a wide selection of undergraduate, postgraduate and research courses in computing, business, law, art and design, architecture, social sciences, human sciences and the built environment. London Met has a strong focus on employability with undergraduate programmes including work-based learning placement, client project or on-campus work experience.
